CEO of EPSO-G Rolandas Zukas decided to leave the Group

Rolandas Zukas, CEO of the energy transmission and exchange group EPSO-G towards the end of its term of office in 2022 decided to leave the position of CEO from 3 January. The Company’s Board granted his request.

The Board of EPSO-G initiated the selection of a new head of the Company and it is planned that the new head will be appointed at the end of the selection process in March or April. As of 3 January, the Board entrusted Algirdas Juozaponis, the Director of Finance of the Company, who will ensure the smooth running of the Company and the whole Group until a new head of the Company is appointed. Tomas Varneckas, Head of the Infrastructure Division of EPSO-G, will be responsible for the implementation of strategic projects of the Group during this period, including the installation of a physical barrier at the border with Belarus.

According to the CEO of EPSO-G Rolandas Zukas, the Group has demonstrated stable and constantly improving operational and financial results for several years in a row. This year, the Company’s long-term strategy was adopted, defining not only the future of the Group but also the country’s energy sector by 2030. The Physical Barrier project is being implemented in a timely and successful manner and is of great importance to Lithuania, both stages of which have successfully moved to the stage of construction work. “Therefore, I have now taken a well considered decision that will allow me to use my experience in other areas of activity and for the Group to continue the transformation of the country’s energy sector,” said Rolandas Zukas.

“I thank Rolandas for his many years of professional and successful work in leading the EPSO-G Group. Rolandas raised this Group from the embryo stage to its current maturity. During this period, his team and the whole Group successfully implemented dozens of strategic energy projects. For the new head of the company, we will expect to implement the transformation of the country’s energy sector as set out in the strategy, to substantially strengthen the entire Group by expanding its activities and to adjust the business model of the Group accordingly,“ said Gediminas Almantas, Chairman of the Board of EPSO-G.

Rolandas Zukas has served as CEO of EPSO-G since February 2015. He is currently also a member of the Board of the National Energy Association of Lithuania and a member of the Board of the international association Central East European Partners.
